My first week (well 2 days) back at work wasn’t too bad. Carter fussed a bit in the afternoon at the babysitter, but otherwise he seemed to do ok. I think he was craving attention since grandma and grandpa had just left.  Thursday he was rather clingy for me too, so hopefully by next week he’ll be weaned of being an attention junkie. It took me 45 minutes before I finally left him in the morning, and I almost left work early to go get him but I managed to stick it out and let Shawn pick him up as scheduled. I think Carter will likely adjust faster than mommy.

Carter has been walking alot more lately. He’ll even take a walk around the room without any encouragement now. His balance is geting better but he still gets excited and then the walk turns into him giggling and running! Too funny.

Sorry I hadn’t posted in a while, we had some computer trouble and now my parents are here visiting. Carter is doing great, he’s soaking up all the attention form the grandparents.

Carter has started to walk. Before this he would cruise along the furniture and once in a while take a step or two between the coffee table and the couch. Today he thought it was great fun walk between grandma and grandpa (who also thought this was the best thing ever). Actually at some points it was a bit of a run that ended in a face plant on the rug, but he would laugh, get up and do it again! He really gained some confidence today, and I think with a little practice he’ll be walking everywhere very very soon!

Carter is also saying Mama, and not just randomly. The other day when he woke up, instead of crying, he was calling “Mama”! Now we just need him to say Dada, so he can call for Shawn first thing in the morning.

I start back to work part time this week. My parents are here so they are watching him one day this week and then he’ll spend his first day at the babysitter on Wednesday. I think it will be harder on me, because he never seems to be shy and always likes new toys.

Speaking of new toys. Grandma bought Carter tickle me Elmo. This is a toy he does not like. When Elmos laughs and moves, Carter gets freaked out and cries!! Shawn and I think its a hilarious toy but poor Carter is scared of it.

My mom has been snapping photos like mad, so I’ll have many new photos to post later this week. We are also taking some walking video that I will try to post tomorrow.

Poor little guy…

Carter is sick. We can’t complain too much since he has only had one cold, and now this is his second stomach flu. Unfortunately he is even acting sick this time, previous to this he would always manage to play through. He puked a bunch on Saturday and today he’s been running a high fever but the puking has stopped. We even ended up doing pedialyte last night, but today he managed to keep down breastmilk. He sat still and wanted to cuddle most of today — which is very unlike Carter who has trouble sitting still for even diaper changes. I am hopeful that he will wake up and be his usual self in the morning.
